Bridal Shower #1

My sister, Meredith, threw a bridal shower on December 12th
(I can't believe how time flew)!
We played games, ate yummy cupcakes, and opened presents!
Thanks to everyone who came and for all the fun goodies I got :)

30 Days

It's the beginning of the countdown, haha
30 days left today!

My mom's been helping me a lot and putting together all the invites and everything,
We got the napkins today so we can roll them with the plasticware,
and just putting together the little things is all thats left.

Gotta get through the last of my finals (8 all together, ugh exhausting)
and Nathan's finals next week.
We are SO excited for Break,
time to sleep, work, and not do school :)

Full Of Wisdom

Hope everyone had a good THanksgiving!
The day after, Igot my wisdom teeth pulled!
(Nathan thought it was good timing so I wouldn't go shopping on Black Friday)

I was so nervous before because I had never had surgery, an IV, been completely unconscious, NOTHING!
The IV only hurt a little bit, but once I was knocked out I was perfect :)

They even let me keep my teeth! They are HUGE! Seriosuly like the size of my thumb.
They cut one of them to get it out.

Imma make a necklace outta those.

They gave me painkillers, but I didn't really take them. I did on the first day and the next night to make me go to sleep, but I didn't really think it hurt that bad, maybe I'm just a toughie.
I didn't get that swollen either, I guess it helps to have chubby cheeks to start with, haha
Just my right side got more swollen, I think that's where the gigantor tooth was from.

HA. harhar

While me and Nate were chattin' on the phone the other day,
since he goes to school at the same time I'm coming home from school/work, we only see each other on tuesdays and must resort to the old days of phone speak.

He had me watch this video:

and I made him watch this one:

and then we laughed and said good-night.
You should also look other videos by Sean Morey.
Man song, he said she heard, the woman song.
They're very funny.

Now back to studying by my lonesome until Nathan can hold my notecards for me :)

Engagement Pictures.

These were way too hard to find on my computer so I had to wait to do this on Nathan's.
We made a collage of these at snapfish and they were a whole lot cheaper than printing off single pictures at the store!
(The only part that sucks is you can't pick which picture goes where).

Halloween 2009

Nate was... Bruno, which we haven't seen the movie I just thought the outfit was funny.
Caitlin was... a race car driver, I felt like I needed props like a flag or steering wheel.

Here's to buying costumes the night before. Let that be a lesson to ya.

School!

(don't mind my messy room! I don't have time to clean it anymore)!

Second week of school already!
I can already tell you more than you would even want to know about a TOOTH.
I am also really good at taking x-rays and making models,
even when my film drops in a puddle on the floor and everyone joins me in patting the ground to find it!

I have made some cool new friends.
Everyone in the program is either around my age or over 25.
There are also two guys! (albeit a little greasy and weird)
We are divided into three color groups to rotate in labs, so we don't get to see everyone all that much but the RED group is awesome.

I can't decide on how I feel about it yet.
I know I definitely HATE it.
But I also really LOVE it too.
This year will definitely be more stressful and overwhelming as the national exams start coming up in the Spring! YIKES!
.
.
.
Oh, it also doesn't help when you first open your textbook to check it out and you see this:
and many, many, MANY more pictures of people's awesomely looking mouths.

The Colors

I had two requirements to work with from Nathan;
No Yellow and No Purple.
awww man, but those are the BEST!
juuuuust kidding :)

I searched the world of colors and came up with this.
So they are, as announced,
Teal, (less green and not so blue), but mermaidy teal.
Orange, a hint of autumn brown but still creamy (though less than a creamsicle).

Then looking all over the internets, teal and orange is basically like the new black of weddings.
There isn't much, but people have come up with some really awesome things.
Here are some swatches:
that are really HUGE, oops.

P.S. You are not required to wear these colors.
In fact, it might be weird if you did show up in these colors.
So wear whatever you want!

If you would like, you can come in spandex that is pink, but that is my
only recommendation to you.

The Date

Probably would have been nice to post this one first...
but since I went and booked the place, it's actually official.

January 2nd, 2010
01/02/2010

Look for your invitations in the mail!
(hopefully by mid October)

We originally went for October.
Then November.
And settled with all parties on January.
Still not thrilled about it, I've been having 'nightmares' about it because it will be inside.
(not a fan of inside weddings)

Here's to the next four months of:
Full time students
Part time workers
Full time wedding planners
Part time house project-iers
and trying to get last minute health insurance appt's outta the way.
while trying to stay sane.

The Rings

Since we picked up Nathan's today I can actually post pics about these two little wonders.
haha
We bought mine in June, after searching high and low for affordable bling that I liked and would want to wear forever. Although I think it would have been smart to exchange it with a
smaller size since we had 30 days to do so, and we knew it didn't fit.... Oh well.

So when Nathan actually proposed, we were going to go in the next day to get resized.
Turns out they can't.
If they did, the heat from the process or something would reshape the way the diamonds fit so they would all be bejangled.

After asking 3 shops at the mall about it, the last one told us about a plastic thing you can put since they don't use metal fillers anymore.

We went in to Claires, I asked the girl, and she said, 'OH! Ring snuggies, Yeah!!'
Uh sure if thats what you wanna call it.
So I have this:

I can't really feel it so it's not funky at all and it actually keeps the ring even on both sides so it doesn't keep sliding around backwards.

Nathan's ring:
He wanted a black ring, and we looked at a couple places who had ceramic black, but that's just dumb because I'm pretty sure Nathan would break it with all the things he does everyday.
And since he's allergic to metals, it had to be ceramic, titanium, or tungsten.
Tungsten is really kinda heavy but supposedly indestructible.
It's just like his old ring, with slanted sides and flat black.
Pretty awesome and unique. I love it.

So here's to the old and the new :)
(which would be our old and new and improved rings) ha

The Proposal

I found a ring I liked online so Nathan bought it.
That was about 4 months ago, and I didn't think we would need it till about next summer/fall
Which was okay with me, but a very long time away.
Randomly Nathan said, 'Let's get married.'
Uh...Okay? Not that I haven't been waiting or anything.

So this went down on Sunday/Monday
He came into his room and he said, 'Heres my card, buy these tickets for the OSU game this weekend, I wanna go.'
WOOHOO. My hints for the last week paid off that I wanted to go!

Went down Friday night so we wouldn't have to leave at 6 am Saturday morning.
Stayed with Aaron and GAME TIME!
I knew he was going to that day and I told him I didn't know if I wanted there to be a lot of people around, he said okay and the next day, he got down and asked me before we entered the stadium.
He tried to be on the jumbo-tron, or get the beaver costume, and the cheerleaders.
But I'm glad he went for simple.

Here we are at Aaron's old house. After the rainy game :)

I know, I know...

Your all sitting there at your computers waiting to see pictures....

but when I got my new computer, they have the newest iPhoto on it, and I still don't quite have it figured out. It's not letting me upload pics onto here.

HELP ME!
I push the button to choose pictures, then click on the pictures on the far left. and the only thing that comes up is the iPhoto application, usually it has the folders with all the pictures.

Um, Help. Please. Thanks.

A Lemon of Sorts

I have a new friend!
I have had three like him before; all within the last three years :)
My computer went to shits this last week.
You heard me. It was VERY upsetting.
It's kinda like when a Doctor comes out to tell their family that their loved one has past.
I wonder if the "Geniuses" at the Apple Store feel the same way.

They are also my friends.
Since there are two that now know who I am.

I have no pictures.
I have no papers, powerpoints, NOTHING from school. It's kinda like I never went!
(oh wait, I have a large sum of money I owe...dang it).

My Family History Powerpoint is gone.
But I think I may have it written on a scratch piece of paper somewhere...

The Excel Spreadsheet with ALL my student loan info, pay off, amounts I have paid, etc.
GONE!

And the coolest? No Microsoft Word, PP, Excel, or Calendar.
Good thing I start school soon huh?!

I am venting. This is basically pointless.
I still like Mac's.
I don't think I will ever be a PC.
But PLEASE! For the love of peas and carrots, all I ask for is a computer that doesn't require me to visit the genius bar every other month!

And this new iPhoto; (It comes standard on newer ones. I think Hailey, you have it, and I don't get it)!! HELP!

And now there saying that half of Americans will get the Swiney Flu?!
Oy Vey, it just gets better.

Runi + Evan

Rungnapha and Evan got married at the court house in Hillsboro a few weeks ago, and this last Saturday (8/8) she had the Laos ceremony (mainly for her parents), so me and my sisters went (but we kinda missed the ceremony part) before they went back to Medford, where they are now living.

Happy couple on their "after ceremony bed"
After the ceremony they have to go upstairs and get down to baby makin' time for like an hour while their family and friends wait downstairs...
But they were already married and previously lived together so they kinda skipped that part to get the rest of the party over with.

Cake. nomnom. and food.

And eating cake, pre-shoving in face time.
All the jewlery she's wearing is from family that give it to her to wear during that day.
And the white strings are given to them from everyone at the ceremony, they say a blessing and tie it on their wrists.
.
.
.
Oh and this is how I know her:
Rungnapha worked at DQ since the beginning of time like the rest of us, and is a friend of my sisters, brother, and me. She and Evan just graduated from OSU and are living in Medford now, which is where his mom lives.
Runi gave me the nickname Trout and is still really the only person to call me that. haha.

It was fun, and I hope she enjoys that rice cooker we got her :)
haha

IT WAS AWESOME!

Thanks for capturing all the great pics Hailey!!!

Fair 2009

Ah, Fair.

You seemed a little different this year.
Maybe because we couldn't look out the back of the booth and see/smell fried bread.
Or it was the hot dog guy next to us was missing.
The lack of animals and sitting next to the fans at the Morin's.
Big empty spaces are not really a good sign either.
No mini-golf or diving dogs, but the racing piglets were pretty darn cute.
Although the big pigs still smelt, the goats and sheep were annoying as usual, and the cows especially were still very cute.

But it was HOT HOT HOT and good for some coldy cold shave ice!!
And because of that, I don't have too many pictures of anything but the booth.
:(

Inspiration for Your Own Ears

**Must Listen to Song Playing**

One day.
One day we will all be at peace.
Up above.

With our families.
Safe.
From any harm that we have felt here on this Earth.

There is no hate.
no judgements.

Be strong.
Stay strong.
You will persevere through the wars of the world
and the wars in ourselves.

We are all equal.

PIR 2009

Thursday was the pro motocross race at PIR (portland international raceway) so I thought it would be fun for us to go since we kinda go every year, and i didn't wanna miss it.
That and Brody was selling Derot shirts and we never make it out to his house so I figured this was my only chance :)
The kids are WAY too cute and funny.

Then the pros are just insane.
There were only about 4 guys from Oregon in it, and everyone else from California. (boooo) and of course a Cali boy won...but he was amazingly fast,
he lapped 5 or more guys and won 3,000 bucks.
It's a twenty minute race...and the guy who was in third crashed
on the hill before the finish line with 2 laps to go. BOOO

Here is NOT the video of the Pros starting, its crazy watching them fly.
But nobody did anything cool so that was pretty LAME!

um yeah it wont upload. boo blogger.
